About the position
Operate mobile cranes and crane trucks safely on Quantum Equipment’s industrial lifts, machinery moves, construction work, and heavy-haul support projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate assigned cranes and crane trucks within the equipment’s configuration, capacity, and site limitations.
- Complete pre-use inspections, logbooks, and defect reports, and communicate maintenance needs before dispatch.
- Set up outriggers, mats, barricades, and exclusion zones after confirming ground conditions and the approved work plan.
- Read load charts, follow lift plans, and verify the crane configuration and working radius before each lift.
- Coordinate clearly by radio and approved hand signals with lift supervisors, riggers, spotters, and site personnel.
- Maintain positive control of the load and stop work whenever conditions change or the lift cannot proceed safely.
Qualifications
- Current crane-operator certification appropriate to the equipment and work assigned.
- Relevant mobile-crane or crane-truck operating experience in industrial, construction, or heavy-equipment environments.
- Strong working knowledge of load charts, crane setup, lift planning, rigging practices, and site hazard controls.
- A valid driver’s licence; applicable commercial driving credentials are an asset.
- CSTS, First Aid, fall-protection, and other current safety tickets are assets; include all credentials with your application.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Schedule & location
Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with overtime when project needs require. Work is based at Quantum Equipment or one of the company’s 10 project sites across Calgary.
